HEINE Optotechnik, an internationally successful medical technology manufacturer with its headquarters south of Munich, is pleased to announce that Chief Operations Officer Timo Martin takes over responsibility for the Commercial division with immediate effect in addition to managing the Technical division. The previous Chief Commercial Officer, Dr Matthias Kühner, has simultaneously left the company.
‘I look forward to continuing to work closely with Timo Martin,’ states Oliver Heine (President & CEO), who will be maintaining his focus on the company’s strategic development. ‘Over recent years he has propelled crucial developments in digitalisation and innovation, and thus laid the foundation for successful new products like the DELTA 30 dermatoscope. Constructing our new building and relocating the entire company to Gilching during the Covid pandemic were real challenges that we successfully overcame thanks to the HEINE team and Timo Martin’s leadership.’
Hardly anyone knows HEINE better than Timo Martin. He has been working for the family-owned company for 14 years now, having started in the IT. As head of the IT department, he initiated key projects such as the introduction of a company-wide standardised ERP system. Timo Martin’s first position as a division manager put him in charge of Research & Development, followed by Quality and other areas of responsibility, and culminating in his appointment as Chief Operations Officer in 2019.
‘I am proud of what we have achieved as a team over the last years,’ Timo Martin says. ‘We’ve not only set up our production processes for the future and introduced new production technology, but we’ve also restructured our development process and built on our expertise in software development and in the digital sphere in general. We grew with the challenges of the Covid crisis and are well equipped for the future. I look forward to my new area of responsibility, gaining even greater insight and also to intensify the contact with our sales partners.’
